8. Upgrading or Repairing a 2X ThinClientServer Installation

• Upgrade the “Master” ThinClientServer
• If you have installed one or more “Slave” ThinClientServers, you should then upgrade them one by one
• Logon to the Management Console of the “Master” server and upload a zip file containing a new version of the ThinClientOS as shown on the front page of the Management Console. All uploads should be done on the “Master” server
• Select a newer version of the 2X ThinClientOS for a particular thin client and boot up the new version
• Verify that everything works as expected
• Select the newer version of the 2X ThinClientOS as the default version for all your installation

Upgrading 2X ThinClientServer

1. Run setup by double-clicking on the file ThinClientOS-6_x-setup.exe.

2. You will be informed with a window that the upgrade will require a new licence key. If you want to proceed click “Yes”

3. Click “Next” to proceed with the upgrade. The Install Wizard will proceed to uninstall the current version of the program, retaining any settings and configuration files. Click on “Finish” in the next dialog to proceed with installing the new version.
   

4. Click “Next” to proceed to the License agreement page.
5. Click “I Agree” to accept the License Agreement. You must accept the agreement to install 2X ThinClientServer.

6. The next dialog will show you the destination folder where the upgraded files will be installed. Click “Next”.

7. If you have multiple network cards, or multiple IP addresses on one network card, setup will ask you for the IP address to which the 2X ThinClientServer must bind. Select Auto unless you want to exclude a particular network card.

8. Setup will ask you for a username and password for the settings to connect to the 2X ThinClientServer database.
   
   

9. After all the files are copied setup will ask you whether you want to create a 2X ThinClientServer farm or join an existing farm. If this is the first time you are installing 2X ThinClientServer, choose “Create Farm”. If you want to add a 2X ThinClientServer to an existing installation to improve the deployment of thin clients in large installations, then choose “Join Farm” and enter the IP address of the 2X ThinClientServer hosting the farm (typically the first 2X ThinClientServer).

10. Setup will ask you to configure 2X ThinClientServer but unless there are any changes you can just click “Confirm”.
    

11. Once you click Confirm setup will be complete. Click “Finish” to end the setup process.
